FDIC 2011—KME Unveils New PRO Series Pumper

March 24, 2011

KME unveiled its new PROTM Series Pumper this year at FDIC 2011. The PROTM is simply a better multi-purpose response vehicle to address the ever changing needs of today’s fire service. The PROTM eliminates the pump house so you can utilize your overall space for tools and equipment in a short wheelbase and it also brings a new level of operator safety to the fire scene.

MORE EQUIPMENT
With a standard 382 cubic feet of compartmentation and a larger body option of up to 580 cubic feet, departments can carry the equivalent of a heavy rescue full of tools and equipment. The body compartments are substantially deeper than competitors’ models at 14” upper and 29” lower depths.

SHORTER WHEELBASE
The PROTM short wheelbase is only 176”. This provides for a highly maneuverable turning radius so operating this truck in even the tightest conditions is a breeze and the unit includes great angles of approach and departure too.

INCREASED WATER FLOW
Sometimes the situation calls for more water and the PROTM deliveries a best in class rating of 2,000gpm. With a 1,000 gallon water tank and 20 gallon foam tank, pumping options include a variety of foam systems.

UNSURPASSED OPERATOR SAFETY
Lastly, the PROTM offers an unsurpassed level of safety for the pump operator. We didn’t just move suctions and discharges a few feet, we completely eliminated them from the operator work area to the front, rear and officer’s side of the truck. Crosslays are located in the front bumper for easy access. The discharges and suctions are electrically operated and the camera system allows the operator to see the other side of the truck to maintain view of hydrant and pump operations. Lastly, the diagrammatic pump panel makes operating the system easier than ever.

For the ultimate in body capacity, pump flow and operator safety, the KME PROTM delivers.
